So, that year went by very quick! Well, they do say that time flies when you’re having fun, and we certainly know how to have fun here at Direct4x4! We welcomed many new products, some new team members and we got out on the road as much as we could.

In February, we braved the British winter and went out green laning with our friend Neil. We had an excellent day exploring Derbyshire and the Peak District and it was a lovely opportunity for our vehicles to stretch their wheels. Neil drove his amazing Land Rover Discovery, and this made us realise that our fleet needed a Disco too! So later, in March we welcomed our Land Rover Discovery 2 which we have affectionally called 'Sooty'. This beast of a truck is magnificent and super fun to drive.

What better way to parade Sooty for the first time than over at Stratford at the Adventure Overland Show in April? Boy it was a muddy one! It rained heavily for days before and when we arrived, we had to set everything up in the pouring rain. However, we never let a bit of mud put us off and we quickly got the wellies out and with all the expedition camping gear on display, we had a fantastic weekend. We enjoyed a little dance at the Viking disco on Friday night at the main tent too which helped us to just embrace the mud and relax for the rest of the weekend. It was a very busy show and we enjoyed chatting to friends new and old and showing off how good our products are. It was a testament to how good our gear is because they were certainly put through their paces! If you were there you know what we mean!

In April, we also launched our new and improved website, making it much easier to shop with us and learn more about our products and services.

Summer came and along with that came our new All Black Aluminium Clamshell Roof Tent. This super stylish 2-person tent is not only quick to set up but also boasts one of the comfiest mattresses we've ever had in our tents. This tent is on sale right now so why not grab one for your 2024 adventure?

The next new exciting products to arrive were the Multifunction Outdoor Portable Power Charging station and the 100W Multifunction Portable Solar Panel! With both items you will never need to worry about keeping all your camping accessories and devices fully charged. Two team members had a trip to the highlands of Scotland and can say with confidence these we great products for when you are in the remotest parts of the world. You can save 10% if you buy them both in a bundle from our website!

We also launched the new 12L Compact Compressor Fridge Drawer Storage Unit. This cute little fridge is ideal when space is a premium. Make sure you keep your essential items nice and chilled with awesome bit of kit. Plus, when you need extra space then our Expedition Drawer System Shelf Extension could be what you need. Designed for practicality and flexibility, these clever shelves will give you work top space to work on your latest job or cook up a storm when you need to cook outdoors.

Our friends at JKOverland worked on a new budget build this year, this time using a 1996 Mitsubishi Pajero SWB. In December, they headed out to beautiful Morocco with the Toyota Hilux fully loaded with our expedition camping gear and accessories for another epic adventure. Why not head along to their social media pages to see our products in action and catch up with their exciting life?

Our team celebrated some good news with our TikTok star Jack completing his apprenticeship and becoming a fully-fledged member of Direct4x4. Plus, we welcomed Craig to our team in September and look forward to working with him in 2024.

Finally, we headed out for one last time to the Great British Land Rover Show in Stoneleigh. Our fleet of Land Rovers looked amazing with all the Direct4x4 equipment on display. They received an extra polish from Craig so Nora and Sooty really stood out from the crowd. Well, we think so anyway! It’s always so nice to meet customers and help them to choose the right products for their future outdoor adventures.

So, 2024 will bring more fun and laughter. With some new exciting products in the pipeline and plans to head out again it promises to be a good year. First major trip will be the Land Rover Global Gathering in Market Harborough May 3-5. An attempt a Guinness World Record will take place so this could be awesome! Read more here.

Keep your eyes peeled on all our social media platforms for all our news and we look forward to helping you get out this year and make more memories in 2024!
