What a blast! We had so much fun at the Land Rover Owner International show in Peterborough last weekend. We had to set up in the thunder and rain but this didn’t dampen our spirits in the slightest - we were just excited to be there and show off all our expedition camping gear.
Thankfully we had chance to meet up with some old friends and make lots of new ones. After missing this show due to the pandemic, it was lovely to finally leave the safety of our office and demonstrate why we think our products are instrumental in making UK camping trips stylish and comfortable.
Our incredible 4-berth caravan was a hit with so many, the star of the show! We got to demonstrate why this caravan is so good and how it would encourage ones to take to the open road and explore. Everyone loves our famous Land Rover Defenders and with all the camping gear on display everyone got to see for themselves how spacious and versatile roof top tents are.
In the evening we sat around a campfire and had a few drinks and a good team building chat. Nice to spend time with our colleagues, making sure that we still have fun while working hard!
We were sad to hear that the show will not be in Peterborough next year but hopefully we can find out where it will be and make plans to attend once again. Thanks for your support and don’t forget to contact us if you have any queries about the gear we had on display at the show.

Plans are being made to attend this year’s Land Rover Owner International Show in Peterborough on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September. After a 2 year break due to the pandemic, we are all really excited here at Direct4x4 and raring to go. The main plan is to show off some of our expedition camping gear and let everyone see for themselves how amazing and versatile our products are.
The annual Land Rover Owner International Show in Peterborough is the biggest Land Rover event in the UK. It’s a fabulous opportunity to network with fellow Land Rover enthusiasts and owners, show off your pride and joy or drool over 1000s of others. There is something for everyone from a live action arena to shopping for the loved one in your life! Plenty of vendors selling accessories and parts to keep your Landy looking in tip top condition!
On display will be our Land Rover Defender 110 which has one of our most popular roof top tents, the Pathseeker auto pop-up hard-shell remote control solar powered roof tent. Along with one of our expedition pull-out side awnings and privacy shower curtain box, this iconic vehicle is set up and ready to go out in the wilderness. You can also find out how you can hire this incredible vehicle with Direct4x4 Escapes, our sister company, offering you the perfect opportunity to try out the overland camping experience before you buy.
Next will be our Land Rover Defender 90. In striking orange, this was a crowd pleaser when we attended back in 2019. It has an expedition fold out roof top tent, our largest tent on offer and some would say the most comfortable. Come and see how easy it is to set up our massive 270-degree vehicle awning too. In the back, you will be able see how our Defender expedition drawer storage system keeps everything neat and tidy. Both of our Land Rover Defenders have our fantastic expedition roof racks fitted too!
We will be very happy to present our Ford Ranger Wildtrak off-roading pickup truck which is also available to hire from Direct4x4 Escapes. It has the 3-person RoofTrekk roof tent as well as a pull-out side awning and shower curtain box. You can see our other accessories like tool storage boxes and portable camping fridges. Pickup trucks are popular vehicles and are no longer just for work but can make exciting adventure vehicles.
For something a bit different, check out our incredible Toyota Hilux pickup truck fitted with our unique loading bed camping pod. These are regularly seen in the Aussie outback, true, but have only just started to become more prevalent in the UK and across Europe. Maybe you feel you would like one but not sure how they work, well now is the time to see it in action!
We also are bringing out our 4-berth expedition caravan. This home from home is versatile and solidly built to tackle any epic adventure. Caravans are, and I know I state the obvious here, a completely different experience to roof tents. However, if canvas is not your thing or you fancy trying a different experience then a good look round this amazing van could inspire you for future travels.
If you come to our stand J13, you will be able to see all this exciting gear. We plan to have demonstrations on how to set up our awnings and tents.
